- Create a PDF using Bottle and Python as demonstrated on this post, can be used to generate PDFs via web applications.
- Learn how to parse XML with ElementTree.
- Build an API with Python and Flask – I’ll be using this one later for one of my own projects.
- Create Music Algorithmically walks through code to create a song by teaching software some basic patterns.
- Build your own template engine and get a solid understanding of exactly how they work.

- Here’s something different, an interactive Gist console. It’s great for not only sharing code, but allowing people to interact with it once it has run.

- Greg Reda posted a beyond-the-basics piece on web scraping with Python, including turning that data into a KML map. It’s actually his second post on the subject, the first one is an introduction to web scraping.
- Take a tour of the Twitter library.
- Build a tool to summarize articles (and other text) for you. Great for blogs or even just those who would like to save time and skim.
